What We Are Working on

Project Websites

Web Design System

  • Bug week! 🐛 🐞 🕷️ 🐜 🦗 🐝 🦋
    • Cleaned up Server Notices: You won’t see the results but it cleans up the view Danial sees when he’s fixing things (aka breaking things).
    • The Contact Information in Customize has the State field back!!!
    • Typo update from School of Medicine Google Scholar link
    • News Cards are now using sourceset for the medium image. This will fix the small pixelated image when the expands to fit the space.
  • Event List block:
    • Added the location category
    • Adding a placeholder from “No events found” that will also be customizable.

Projects

  • Migration to AWS: International Programs is on AWS now. Next up: Compliance and Civil Rights Network and Spokane Network.
    • The project is expected to take 2-3 months to complete
    • The Labs Network will be one of the last ones moved since it is a rather large network.
    • Network Admins are encouraged to look at their Sites and see if any can be archived.
      • Edit website, edit Site Address (URL) to include “-archive” for subdirectory or “/archive” for third-level domains, and edit Attribute to Archived only.
      • Or submit a web support ticket for general help with a list of websites to be archived.
  • Enrollment Management Branding: Expected to start in mid to late April. Most of the blocks will have limited use for recruitment pages.
  • New News website and Events website: (early summer, most likely) Rebuilding the News website and Events website with components for local websites to share news and events with the central news website or events website.
    • Sharing feature: a local news or event item can be shared with the central news website or events website. Central website will use the assets from the source website and link back to this source news or event item.

  • Transactional Forms: The turnaround time for transactional forms with TouchNet Marketplace UStore and the Modernization Team is much better than before. We are no longer building temporary transactional form websites.

  • Websites over web pages: A WordPress website takes priority over a webpage.
    • Example: college.wsu.edu/academics website will take priority and traffic over the academics webpage on college.wsu.edu, college.wsu.edu/academics
