Web Accessibility

WSU updated the web accessibility policy, Executive Policy #7: Electronic and Information Technology (EIT) Accessibility Policy, (effective August 23, 2017), and has engaged in a continuous process to update web accessibility procedures to best serve our community and to meet state and federal requirements.

Required Web Accessibility Training

The required web accessibility training is designed to help increase awareness and knowledge around web accessibility.

Important: This training must be completed yearly.

Web Accessibility Guides

These accessibility guides are available for web publishers and administrators. WSU faculty and staff are encouraged to become familiar with the web accessibility guides.

Website Owners

Subdomain owners (see Executive Policy 21) are responsible for ensuring that content on their website(s) are accessible in conformance with EP7, and all content publishers at the University must participate in annual web accessibility training before publishing content online. (see Business Policies and Procedures Manual 85.55)

Compliance Requirements

All new web content must meet the updated standards. In addition, all web content created after January 1, 2013 must meet the updated standards in accordance with WSU’s remediation plan.
