What We Are Working on

Web Design System

  • Social Media channels: X’s, formerly Twitter, icon was updated. Bluesky is added as a social media option.

Projects

  • Navigating Challenges website: A website to include federal, state, and WSU information. This website will be similar to the COVID-19 website as a central point for up-to-date information.
  • President’s website: We’ll be helping with the transition to the incoming president’s website.
  • President Transition website: The website will be covering the first 100 days of the incoming president.
  • Website Accessibility Checker: This website will allow you to add the sitemap of your website and schedule accessibility reviews. This accessibility checker will review the website as a whole and provide information on individual pages. The website will keep historical information on these reviews. This checker provides basic accessibilty issues. The axe review and links to WAVE will provide additional information about accessibility errors.

  • Search Engine Visibility: Before launching your website, check to make sure your website is visible to search engines:
Go to Settings and then select Reading. On the Reading webpage, make sure Search engine visibility is unchecked. If your website has Site Visibility, make sure Allow search engine to index this site is selected.
  • Google XML Sitemaps: It is a good idea to activate the XML Sitemap. It provides a clean and up to date sitemap to search engines better than the default WordPress sitemap.
  • Search Console: Submit your website to Google’s Search Console. Search Console tools show how a website performs in organic search by reporting on indexing status, search queries, keyword performance, and crawling errors and issues.
