Digital Accessibility is Everyone’s Responsibility
The required digital accessibility assessment is for all WSU employees who create or publish digital content such as email, documents, multimedia, and websites. Also, they are responsible for ensuring it is accessible and provides an inclusive experience.
What We Are Working on
Projects
- Accessibility Checker: A tool to regularly get an accessibility audit of a website. A tiny setback on this project. But really, who needs to be able to access the hard drive on said dead computer? Not Dan! I’m sure he wants to start this project all over again.
- Accessibility assessment & Percipio and accessibility roles on the website: More information to come in the next couple of weeks.
- Move to AWS: Still moving networks to AWS. Danial is finding all the little glitches. Glitches are so much fun!
- WDS 4.0: Matt is working, working, working on this. Go Matt!
Glitch List
- Hero Banner: The block is giving an error on the slides when the website is on AWS.
- Events List: a fun 500 error exists.
- People and News blocks are not displaying all the things they should. Danial is on it.

Byte Size Tutorial
- Stage to Live websites: The URL for the stage website no longer exists once a website is launched. The database is searched for the stage URL to replace it with the live URL. The previous URL is archived by adding “archived” to the URL and changing it to an archived website.
