Feb. 17 Open Lab Notes: A11y Plugin, GA4 Migration, Spotlight Glitch and Alt Text & Media Library Issue

What We Are Working on

Financial Aid: Beginning the project to move Financial Aid into WDS.
Campus Web Design System websites: Started working with campuses about moving their websites into WDS/

Update to WDS: We are making new updates to WDS. VetMed is currently testing these updates.

WSUWP Gutenberg Accessibility (A11y) Plugin: Continued work on the plugin and added additional checks.
Link Check Toggle: Working on implementing a toggle in the Admin bar to turn on a link checker for the broken links, stage.wsu.edu links, and URL Defense links.
GA4 Migration: Fingers crossed we have the project complete by the end of the month. Glad we picked the SHORTEST month for this project.
OKTA Integration: We’ll be replacing the current login method with OKTA.

Spotlight Block: Images in the Spotlight Block use the description instead of the alt text.
Changing Alt Text & the Media Library: Updating an image’s alt text on a webpage is updating it in the media library.
