People Directory

The People Directory is a means to create profiles of WSU faculty and staff with their Net ID (butch.cougar) for websites. It is often used for faculty and staff directory pages on a website.

Get Access

Submit a web support ticket to request editing access to the People Directory. Specify the access level from the options below.

Access Levels

  • Editor: Edit all profiles and create (Beta) Directories.
Submit a web support ticket to change your role from Unit Admin to Editor if you cannot access the (Beta) Directory.
  • Profile Owner: Only their specific profile

Profile Sharing

The People Directory is shared by everyone across campus. Changing information on an individual’s profile page changes the information wherever the profile is displayed on other websites across WSU.

Please be cautious of the changes you make to profiles, as they will be reflected on the profile across WSU websites. Our recommendation is to speak to the website owners of shared profiles to find out how they are used on their website and agree on what information can be changed or added.

Editing Profiles

While we are transitioning from the current People Directory to the new People Directory, Edit a profile in Classic Editor.

Understanding Unit Admin Access Level

The Unit Admin access level gives editing permission to profiles for a specific university organization. We designate this when a user’s access is granted to the People Directory website.

Adding a New Profile

Make sure to add the University Organization to a new profile before saving and leaving the page.

Unable to See a Profile?

Whether a profile is missing the university organization or the profile has a different university organization, only a user’s designated university organization profiles are available to the user.

Important: If missing access to a profile, submit a web support ticket to request editing access to the People Directory.
